1.Check the versions of SQL*NET on yopur SUN and on your NT.   SQL*NET V1 is not compatible with SQL*NET V2 ! 2. Check your communication protocol (TCP/IP vs. named pipes) 3. If your are using SQLNET V1 check the files

   \winnt35\system32\driver\etc\services    Add the service "orasrv" and the portnumber your server is    running on the sun (normaly 1521 or 1525).

All this is valid for an 32-bit SQL*NET!

If you are using 16 bit.
Do the same as in windows.
