PL/SQL in SQL*Plus

I have installed a ORACLE v7 DataBase Server. The only modules that I have installed are SQL*Plus and SQL*Forms 3.0. The installation was successfuly, but, when I wrote a PL/SQL stament in the SQL*Plus prompt, appears the error: NOT A SQL stament...

What is the problem??
