File Server Technical Marketing Engineer

Responsibilities include driving Challenge file server business by providing specific expertise in determining customer requirements, configuring competitive systems, running customer benchmarks and providing strategic pre and post sales support as it relates to the file server market.

Will use specific knowledge and expertise of Irix operating system and Challenge hardware to characterize file server performance, produce technical white papers, tune benchmark systems and train the field SE force on system configuration. Will work with NSD engineering teams to enhance file server performance and help perform competitive analysis.

Requirements: MSCS/MSEE or equivalent.

For internal candidates: In depth knowledge of the IRIX operating system, NFS, Challenge hardware, XFS file system, networking technologies (FDDI, Ethernet, ATM, 100baseT, HIPPI), understanding of competitive landscape. Experience with Web/internet serving required.

For External candidates: In depth knowledge of the Unix operating system as it relates to file serving workload, NFS, SMP hardware, Unix file systems and networking technologies (FDDI, Ethernet, ATM, 100baseT, HIPPI), understanding of competitive landscape. Experience with Web/internet serving required.
