The only automated way I know is to pay for Oracle's Gold support. Then whenever Oracle is about to release a new version or patch they proactively let you know.

Since my project only has basic support I call up Oracle support periodically and ask what the latest versions are for IRIX 5.3 and IRIX 6.2. I also make sure to ask about any future releases and plans. I have been able to get some info this way and make some plans about future upgrades. Which reminds me I need to call up and ask about 7.3.2.2 again, I believe Oracle expects to release that in the fall for IRIX 6.2.

Oracle had a beta Web page that listed trouble reports. I just tried it and got the requested URL not found error. It was tedious to use, but I did find some helpfull info about IRIX there. I don't know if it is permantly down or not. I had to send email to registar, but I don't remember how. The URL is <http://support.oracle.com:8000/Welecome.html>.
