After downloading the trial version of Oracle for Solaris x86 I noticed that the tar file hasn't been changed since Apr 1995. I am now curious and would like to find out how to check version number of Oracle I have. When reboot the machine I get a message saying something like version 7.1.XXX (I am not sure if that is the version of Oracle or one of its utilities). I do know from postings in this group that the latest version is 7.3.X. I am beginning to think that Oracle is distributing an old version of Oracle workgroup server for Solaris x86, that happens to have tonnes of bugs in it too.
