Oracle Financials is an entire suite of Accounting modules that includes HR, AP, AR, GL, Manufacturing, Engineering, OE, INV, etc., etc.

There is character and Windows GUI versions known as Smart Client or SC. The Application Object Library began with version 10.5 or 10.6 I believe and it basically created a top level shared or common area of objects for all of the applications that have common code and dependencies.

Financials is a bear to install and even more complicated to maintain. Make sure you have some time on your hands.
