That's because PB does not compile to native code. We've heard the hype and did the tests, and the PB compiler is disapponting to say the least. At the beta meetings towards the end they stopped telling us about it since everyone knew it wasn't going to work.

The problem is that delphi DOES compile into an executable. PB just makes a stub that relies on 7 megs or so of non-compiled DLLs. So if you used Powerscript to do matrix multiplication or to figure the stress on a bridge, it would go faster. But if you did something odd in powerbuilder, like try to retrieve data or open a window, you are back to calling external code that is not terribly fast.

Most business apps aren't going to see a huge jump in performance.

Oh yeah, if i had a better editor at home I'd trim the post-to list - it seems like this is going to a lot of people who couldn't care less
