I am testing an application running on Windows 95 with Pathwork for Windows
95 1.0A
using ORACLE ODBC for Rdb (32 bit) 2.01 accessing ORACLE Rdb on Alpha machine
running OpenVMS 6.1.
I have two copies of ORACLE ODBC driver (32 bit) one that comes with Oracle/Rdb and another obtained from their WWW site. They also instructed to get additional Pathworks for Win 95 patches from local DIGITAL distributer(to overcome error -2046) which I did get it. And installed successfully.
We've tried both driver.
The following error occur when running the application:
System Error Detectec At CHMDbConnect IN dbopen! [ORACLE][ODBC][Rdb]Network Error: Suberror code is -2045 SQLState = 'S1000' and Native error code = '-2003'.
When I refer to the Help file in the SQRDB.HLP searching for the code -2045, it say the following:
-2045, SQLSRV_DLL_LOAD_ERR Explanation: This error is valid only for MS Windows. An error has been returned from the MS Windows loadlibrary call User Action: Ensure that the TCP/IP DLL WSOCKETS.EXE(Pathworks for DOS V4.0) or WINSOCK.DLL is in the search PATH
So, I have checked the following error and it seem to be there.
What could be the problem? And what is the solution as I need it URGENTLY to
run the application?
We have tried all sort of configuration but the same error still persist.
We suspect the problem arise because the conectivity, ODBC, Pathwork and
DECnet.
Please help us. The application run successfully on any other database with Windows NT or Windows 95 as a client with the TCP/IP protocol.
