How "old" is this information ?
I have met a number of people, including oracle employees, who were not able to do a mts-setup. But if you go through the "headache", your database will benefit:
- you have more memory available (which can be used for database buffers), because you need fewer shadow-processes
- response time may decrease, because no additional oracle-processes are created when someone connects to the database
