? Oracle vs SQL/server

I am desperately searching for any information regarding the use of Microsoft's SQL/Server in a data warehousing environment. Specifically any such installations or possible limitations. Oracle is the database of choice for such an installation. However, it has been brought to my attention that MS SQL/Server can do the job as well. True?
