If this laptop is a Win95 or NT laptop, you can simply use the "Remote Access" (or Dial-up Networking in 95) component to connect to your corporate LAN. This LAN would need to have a Remote Access server connected to it. A Remote Access server can be any low-end PC with some modems attached. Laptop dials into RAS server. From there, you can use TCP/IP protocol to talk to any box on your network. I work from home and use this all the time to test apps against corporate databases. Hope this helps.
