I remember interviewing for a position about 1977 with a company. I had a B.Sc in Math, some CIS classes, and 3 yrs experience. Part of the interview involved them presenting a 'spec' and I designed a program, with (psuedo) code in about 1/2 hour. That was probably what impressed them more than the paper qualifications.
