Has anybody encountered this before?

I downloaded Personal Oracle 7 Windows 95 from the internet and installed it (on a Windows 95 workstation). Not a hitch. However, if I want to connect to Oracle Workgroup Server on Windows NT (on a Windows NT server), this will not work. However, the old Developer2000 applications on my Windows 95 workstation do still work.

I have been told that this is due to PO7W95 using SQL*Net V2, while the eval copy of ORA WIN NT I have available on CDROM uses SQL*Net V1.

There is an article on Oracle's web site that tries to show a workaround (see http://www.oracle.com/support/bul/net/1500.html) which seems to say that _all_ I need to do is add the prefix "tns:" to any server path that I have defined (ex. tns:p:server:orcl).

However, this did not work.

Has anyone else had this problem occur? And if so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks,
