Our ODBC Drivers make use of a very powerful concept known as the OpenLink Session Rules Book. This would enable the situation above to be handled by simply building a Rule that makes our Drivers enforce read-only ODBC sessions if the application in use is MS ACCESS and normal mode for other ODBC applications that might be in use on the same machine. In short the Rule book cater for combination of pre-defined and user defined rules that can transcend :-
Domain, Client IP address, Database Name, ODBC Application, User Name, Process ID, Client Operating system etc. these can be applied in singular or combined.
