We're not planning to re-write the PowerBuilder appliation in Developer 2000 or anything else. The proposal is that we take a PowerBuilder App, presently sitting on an Ingres database, and convert it to sit on an Oracle database --- doing only the modifications necessary to make it work. I
suspect this may not be simple, as we haven't even seen the PowerBuilder source code yet. I don't know what sort of special Ingres facilities they
are using that might be incompatible with Oracle, whether they used an ANSI standard sort of SQL, or what. I'm presuming that wherever the PowerBuilder code makes a database access, we're faced with a mod. of some sort.

What are the diffences between Ingres SQL and Oracle SQL?   Received on Fri Dec 15 1995 - 00:00:00 CET
