Hi,
We use large oracle databases (more than 10 million rows per table) and we don't have any problem of performance (of course, sometimes it is a little longer than if you have 1000 rows tables...). The only thing is that you need to optimize your database...
Of course, if you want to make OLTP with a lot of concurrent transactions, you'd better not let your tables grow too much...
