I appologize if you took offense to my response. I offered what I believe to be the best answer to your quest. The SoftRam product is very inexpensive ( about $30 as I recall ), and is well worth the price. Its not as desirablefast as adding RAM, but I assumed that RAM expansion was not an option for you. The alternatives such as not loading some of the tools (SQLPLUS, PLSQL, etc.) or not being able to run other apps like Power Objects or Forms will greatly reduce the use of the database and thereby limit the experience you seek. With all of this said, my pervious post made no reference to speed. Certainly speed will be an issue, but the more troublesome issue that you will be confronted with is GPF's. It seems that when you work close to the limits of available RAM under Windows 3.x, the tendency for GPF's increases. This type of error is something we have all lived with and know that sometimes you just have to reboot. The problem is that such a restart with the Oracle Database up will sometimes corrupt the database and you will have to rebuild from a backup or from scratch.
