Hi All,
I have an AIX plaform running Oracle 7.1.6 with multiple db_writers to improve disk I/O. I would like to dump these in favor of async I/O. The problem is, I had heard 'grumblings' about it. That its not that good, it hurts more than it helps, etc... However, none of the people complaining where specific as to what system and what circumstance. My system is now in production system so I can't make the change and see what happens!
Would someone with experience with Async I/O let me know the pros and cons of using it. Thanks...
Later....................
