Great Job Opening at medium size company in San Jose, CA for a person who is a self-starter and willing to take control of their system's future.
Description: This postion reports directly to the corporate controller.
The person will develop and maintain software in an Oracle
RDBMS / UNIX environment that is critical to the operations of the
company.
Applications include sales, purchasing, accounting, and payroll. Some
system administration and management may also be required from time to
time.
The Company: Pacific States Industries, Inc. in San Jose, CA is a leading wholesale and retail manufacturer and distributor of redwood products.
Technology: Leading edge. Sun UNIX platforms, Local and Wide Area company network, PC's and workstations hosting client applications.

Requirements:
Person must have the following skills:
- Experience developing software applications for an Oracle RDBMS and experience with Oracle interface tools (PL/SQL, SQL*Forms, Pro-C, ...)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to interface with end users, collect and document system requirements and explain a technical approach.
- Ability to lead project tasks that may include other junior staff members, contractors or third-party vendors.
- Knowledge of UNIX operating system and able to handle some system administration functions.
- Knowledge of C and UNIX shell programming.
Education:
Either: 6-10 years experience as programmer/analyst in IT organization
developing database applications; or, AA degree in CS, CIS or EE plus 5
years experience as programmer/analyst; or BS degree in CS, CIS or EE plus
at
least 2 years experience as programmer/analyst.
