NEED HELP-->PL/SQL error

I created a PL/SQL script which I ran from SQL*PLUS and I get a message:

'unexpected oracle server termination by signal 6'

and then it kicks me out of SQL*PLUS. Has anyone seen this message? There is no error number and I don't get any compilation errors. The PL/SQL script consists of a loop with several cursors and some insert/update statements. We use UNIX (SunOS), SQL*PLUS 3.1 and PL/SQL 1.0 on Oracle V7.0.
