Opening Oracle DB in VB ???

Before I'm told to get off the list .. bear with me ...

The reason I want to open an Oracle table is because I want to use the SEEK method available in Visual Basic on that table .. most efficient in my VB code

At the moment I'm using snapshots and FINDFIRST methods to search my Oracle table .... very slow

Now I know you can't open an Oracle table over a ODBC network but you should be able to attach it to an Access Database and subsequently open that Attached Table..

Ok .. I've attached my table fine ... but I can't open it .... You can however open Foxpro... Paradox ... Btrieve .... tables .. but why not Oracle tables ... Is the driver simply not supported .. wrong version ...????
