Connecting Windows/Win95/NT to Unix/VMS via Async- Possible?

First, I do not know the capabilities of Oracle. I have used applications developed using Oracle and am now in the position of tracking down some information on Oracle.

A while back someone told me about a product called Oracle Async. I visited Oracles home page and called them and didn't get any results. I have since revisited the home page and looked all over for any information on async usage.

Here's what I need to find out. The databases are maintained on a Unix or VMS system running Oracle. There will be a serial port connected to a PC running one of the Windows environments (3.11/95/NT) and the PC will access the databases for queries, modifications and addition of new information. There will be no networking between the two machine other than the async serial port.

What is desired is finding an already existing product that will allow the PC running Windows to perform SQL functions over the serial port as if the database were on the PC, with this product being the link.

Is there such a program as "Oracle Async", or is that part of another package such as Personal Oracle 7 or PO7 Enterprise Edition or ????
