Hi everyone,
I have extensive experience in RDBM systems (INGRES). I'd like to pick up a book that sort of teaches me ORACLE without touching on normalization, SQL and all the other standard relational stuff. I am interested in things like:
- What does an ORACLE installation consists of
- What is a table's physical implementation
- What is a database's physical impl.
- How to navigate the data dictionary
- Is there a MASTER database
- etc.
What would be the learning curve for someone like myself? What are the chances of picking up on things without having access to an ORACLE installation?
Thank you.
