Let's have a look at the connect statement : it includes the 'at <db_name>' and 'using <connect_string>' clauses, wich allows you to point at different instances on different box (ref : Pro*c supplement to the Oracle Precompilers Guides and
Programme's guide to the Oracle precompilers - chap 3).
