If you are interested in parallel backups on HP, give DataTools, Inc. a call at 415-842-9130. They put out a product called SQL-BackTrack for Oracle, which handles parallel backups and recoveries. They have a production Sun release available now, and the HP release is supposed to be released for production this month. Their marketing literature says that they support AIX, but I don't know anything about release dates for that. We have been doing some testing with the Sun release and the HP beta release. We just started our testing so I don't have a whole lot of info for you. It seems to be a pretty good and easy to use package.
