Hello all,

I've heard rumours that Oracle and Intel (and maybe some other partners) have teamed up to design an audiovisual interactive database. This database would be designed specifically to be accessed by videoconferencing terminals that communicate over ISDN. Oracle, of course, has all the knowledge on (multimedia) databases, whereas Intel has developed a product callled Proshare, which allows videoconferencing via ISDN.

Can anyone confirm these rumours or maybe point me in the right direction so I can obtain more information on this new product? My background is videoconferencing, and we are currently looking into the possibilities of offering audiovisual information retrieval services for videoconferencing terminals. The developments described above is something we are very interested in.

Please react by Email, since I do not read this newsgroup regularly.

thanx,
