I don't know what platform you are using for Oracle and how the different versions of SQL*Net may vary on different platforms. As we run Oracle on a VAX-cluster, I can only guarantee that what I say pertains to VMS and DECnet. SQL*Net v1 for DECnet was only available for DOS. We were told that in order to connect to the database using PowerBuilder we had to run SQL*Net for Windows, which was only available in v2. So we upgraded. The _at_T:LION syntax still works with v2 although it is not necessary.
