We've got both servers running on the same box. The thing you've to watch out for is that both RDBMS' are very resource hungry. So you've got to give the host enough RAM, swap space, semaphores, disk space, etc... We've upgraded these, and built a new kernel since adding sybase to the box. So if you've got enough resource, they will both run together.
