orapwd and using SQL*DBA remotely

Since I installed Personal Oracle on my Windows machine, I've been using those nifty graphical tools to administer my Unix databases. The user manager and the table manager work great over SQL*net, but I can't get the session manager and that startup/shutdown utility to work over SQL*Net. They keep asking me for the "password".

I assume that this password is the internal password, which I originally chose not to setup when I installed the database. Without having this password, it doesn't look like I can remotely administer the database.

How can I set up the internal password? Oracle sent me some documentation on the ORAPWD utility, but it's sketchy at best. What's worse, then documentation they sent me doesn't seem to be for my version of ORAPWD.

Can anyone help me? BTW, my database version is 7.1.3.

Thanks in advance.
