I an not sure if the following problem I am about to describe applies to just my versions or my environment but here goes.

Platform: SUN Solaris 2.4
Oracle RDBMS:	7.1.6
SQL*Net : V1. 1.2.7.8.1 V2 2.1.6.1.0

We have the databases up and going but have been having trouble with SQL*Net V1 and V2 running. We cannot get any connection via V1 or V2. Been on the phone with Oracle for the last 4 _days_ . (Support is another issue. Not once have they called me back. In all instance I have had to call them. The guy's knowledge of Oracle's products? Dont ask.)

Anyway, it was very frustrating but eventually gave up and reinstalled Oracle. Hey it works. The difference. I did not apply their 'IMPORTANT' patch and it works. But when I applied it again. Boom. No luck. Had to regress.

If anyone out there with 7.1.6 on Solaris 2.4 and have applied patch for bug #274054 and have got SQL*Net V2 or V1 going, please let me know via email. I don't have any idea what is going on (ditto with Oracle Support).
