congratulation to you - ORACLE - great work !!!

i just did a little testing on
oracle objects for ole and power oracle objects (beta). both products are really great !!!

perhaps someone could comment on my questions ?

  1. what are the main differences between
<visual basic & oracle objects for ole> and
    <oracle power objects> (PO) ? i'm really confused...
what are the main usp's against e.g. gupta's sqlwindows or borland's delphi ?
  2. does PO support dynamic embedded sql ? e.g. dim sSql as string sSql = "select var1,var2,... into :nvar1, :nvar2, ... from ..." Exec Sql sSql if not - is it possible to call oracle 7.1 package dbms_sql ?
  3. does PO support multiple inheritance ? which oops-concepts will be supported ?
  4. is the exe-file generated by PO a 'real' exe file (or something like visual basic does) ?
  5. will it be possible to generate 16-bit and/or 32-bit windows exe-files with PO under windows 3.x / windows 95 ?
  6. what about ocx-files ? i know that they will come - but they are not here (still using vbx) !
  7. which rdbms will be supported but ms-sqlserver or sybase? odbc ? what's blaze ? what about ibm's db/2 or gupta's sqlbase ?
  8. when will PO be released and what's the price (like visual basic) ?
  9. why does oracle froms 4.5 (cde/2) take so much cpu, ram etc. and PO does NOT ? i really don't complain - i just think to myself "proof that you can"
  10. is it possible to integrate oracle graphics/reports via ole2 and use the whole drilldown/cross-tab functionality ?
  11. does PO support oracle 7.1 sql-syntax completly ? i so some strange things in oracle reports 2.5 (cde/2) when executing sql statements like the following: select sum(mycol) AS total ....
  12. will PO be ported to ms-windows nt as a native app ?
  13. is there a listing stating the syntax differences between PO-basic and visual basic ?
  14. don't take this last question too serious: how many guys but 'larry' want to use PO on a macintosh ? is there a possibility to get information about oracle users desktop operating system preferences ?

by the way
i like the way oracle performs NOW - 'you proofED that you can'

thanks in advance Received on Fri May 05 1995 - 00:00:00 CEST
