Futher more, Oracle put out some crap that was annoying me all the time:
- Poplists now can be populated by a record group.
- The root-window is no longer required.
- The status line (called console view) is no longer required.
- You can open the same form several times (within the same session or with a new session).
- VBX-controls (if you dare ;-)
- "mirror-items", allowing to display an item as multiple-row and single-row at the same time (or on different canvases). We use this to let the user switch between a single- or multiple-row display of the current block. You don't need to add any code!
- improved redraw performance, especially in multiple-row blocks.
- mouse event programming (eg: double-clicking on a record brings up some extra information on a stacked canvas). Cool.
- therefore ability to code some drag and drop functions (difficult!).
I migrated to 4.5 last week. No need to say I'm somewhat enthusiastic about this little thingy.
(although no one would could answer my little question about passing a great amount of data between two forms without using a table.)
Have fun and migrate!
Dirk
