One of my friend has the following problem in estimating the oracle table size:
I am trying to understand the size estimation as given in the book "Oracle 7.0 Administration and Management" by Michael R Ault. I am referring to Page 79 ; 3rd item --Calculate the ADL I need some help in understanding what the author meant by
- fixed records vs. variable length records
- ave_prec
- How does the formula correlate to various types of oracle data types.
If somebody has got enough patience, an example work-out will be
appreciated.
