George,

There are ODBC drivers for the Mac. I believe Q+E from Intersolv sells one. I know Independence Technologies, Inc. (ITI) and Pacer Software (the company I work for) sell a DAL/ODBC client for Mac and Windows platforms. You will need a DAL Server on your host DBMS machine to talk to the client. I think the Intersolv package connects right into Oracle's SQL*NET.

DAL (Data Access Language) was originally developed at Apple Computer and was recently spun out to ITI. Pacer Softare resells the DAL/ODBC client and engineers and markets DAL Servers for Unix platforms.

If you have any questions about DAL feel free to call Pacer at 508-898-3300 or email me.
