Oracle7 is not supported on a pure PC DOS platform, you have to run it under Windows. Oracle v6 runs on DOS alone, but it will be desupported after the end of the year. It is possible to use the older DOS character mode versions of the Oracle v6 "tools" (SQL*Plus, SQL*Forms, etc. ) to access an Oracle7 server using SQL*Net, but the v6 tools will also be desupported after the end of the year.

Sorry I don't have the max table size answer. I think it is 2Gb*max_extents or something like that. There was a thread recently on it for Unix Oracle. If I recall correctly, it is surprisingly small.
