I wonder if anybody (from Oracle?) figured out how to customize boilerplate fonts in Forms4.0 applications running under X11. The problem is that it looks like the whole conception of handling fonts in X11 was ALIEN to authors of this product. As a result, if you dare to assign a particular font to an object in the designer this font name is HARDCODED into the application executable (.fmx). If you happen to run this application from multiple X-terminals, each with possibly different set of fonts installed - you're in trouble. OK, there is a solution there - don't use fonts assignment in the designer - just use the default, and then you can set the X-resources to define different fonts. Though resources are not documented etc., but still you can deliver with that.

BUT - there is NO resource defined for the boilerplare text, it is set to 'fixed'. Guess what happens if there is no 'fixed' alias defined on the X-terminal when you run it? So - Oracle tech support is not able to tell me anything, maybe collective wizdom of the Net would say something? :-)

Thank a lot,

hope Oracle would fix this - I can explain in more detail how to fix this whole problem to them if they need that... If they give me the source I can fix that :-)
