In the body type

        subscribe oracle-l <your real name>

You must specify your FULL name, for example

   SUBSCRIBE ORACLE-L John A. Doe.
You can also put the word HELP
on a separate line for more info.

This ought to help. Be careful, though; it's an active list with a good bit of traffic!
