The client I'm working with at the moment has just chosen DB-Vision from Platinum Technology (1-800-442-6861). They chose this over Patrol from BMC Software.

In their opinion, DB-Vision's database monitoring facilities are stronger than Patrol's. They suspect this is because DB-Vision is focused solely on database monitoring, whereas Patrol is spread more thinly by being both a system and database monitoring tool.

DB-Vision supports Email and pager alerts.

Your mileage may vary.
