The minimum configuration necessary to run Oracle Server Manager 2.0.3 includes:  

        Sun SPARCstation
        SunOS 4.1.3
        IXI Motif 1.2
        X11, Release 5, patchlevel 21
        8-bit color (CG6), 8-bit grayscale (CG6) or monochrome display

My experience is similar to yours, but I cannot relink since we do not have the correct version of the Motif libs. Relink fails with missing symbols which are probably Motif 1.2 functions (e.g. _XmFontListEntryGetFont). Oracle told me to install w/o relinking, but obviously some functionality is not available. We have O7.1.3 on SunOS 4.1.3 and X11R5.
