I sit corrected. All of this somewhat begs the issue. There is no way ... no strike that, I have been unable to oblige a view to present data in a sorted order with out further specifing an order clause when I select from the view.
As you so sagely put it. Just because I cannot find it by no means doesn't mean it ain't there.

My understandint is that Oracle will happily follow an index in either direction if a select request it. I have not verified this nor am I exacty shure how to do so.
