[FORMS3] sorting after query

Hi Peps - this is my second posting for this article cos I'm not too sure if the first got through (and I had no answers/replies......)

The problem I have is as follows:

Perform a query and bring back some rows sorted on an identifier for a person. The POST-QUERY trigger then populates the person name field on the form (this is a non-table based field - trigger just gets data from the person table). What I want to do is sort on this surname. The form has a master-detail relationship which brings back the person ids which for this relationship are sorted not in the person table but A.N.Other table. I know how to do this in a PRE-QUERY trigger but do not want to redesign the form.

Any help would be musch appreciated.

For info: Oracle 6.0.36 running on SCO Unix 3.2.4 (do you like SCO ?)
