Everybody's been having probs with the cost based optimizer so that's not a netware specific issue. Buit you're right about the fatal part, netware doesn't intercept bugs at all as best I can tell.
We have been running Oracle 7 on netware 3.11/IBM 95 for a couple years now fairly successfully. Don't run anything else on the server and it will help the stability issues.
