We have to go live with some High Profile applications within the next two months on our HPUX and Solaris platforms. I was wondering what peoples opinions are with regards to which of these database versions are the most STABLE. Currently we have 7.0.16 up and are experiencing some really weird problems with Cobol Batch processes and optimization. Oracle support figures the optimization problems should be fixed with 7.1 but have no clue as to what is wrong with the Cobol batch problem other than to say that it seems like a resource problem. In my opinion the Cobol problem is due to the fact that the Procees Area gets corrupted during run-time and then you get many many different types of errors. Any body wan't to make a guess why that happens? To get to the point, How stable is V7.1 for the HPUX and Solaris platforms?
