We're in the process of scoping a project running a RDBMS on a IBM RISC 6000 Model 590. Initially, the database will be about 1 gig (the largest table around 500 meg). We're looking into DB2/6000, Sybase SQLServer and ORACLE. Any help with any of the following would be helpful:
- Ease of administration
- Connectability - applications with potential links are SAS (v6.09
for UNIX) and Visual Basic for Windows - Vendor Support
- Import/export issues
- "Performance"
Any help would be appreciated and forgive me if you've seen this message in another newsgroup. Our newsgroup reader at work is on the fritz, but e-mail to plund_at_dshs.wa.gov works fine. TIA for any help.
