comp.databases.sql
************************************************************************
Group Name: comp.databases.sql
Status: Unmoderated
Summary: Discussion of all aspects of SQL including existing
databases and related products, specifications,
announcements, reviews, etc.
Distribution: World
CHARTER
-------
SQL (Structured Query Language) has been around for some time and has become ever more popular in recent years as the industry moves toward client-server based applications. Unfortunately a suitable newsgroup for discussion of SQL and SQL based products does not exist. Thus, the creation of the group comp.databases.sql would fill this void and provide a place for informal discussion.
This newsgroup would allow for rapid and timely discussion of SQL related issues including general discussion of the language, its specifications, and existing implementations.
Topics for discussion would include:
Product Announcements
Press Releases of Interest
SQL Deployment Issues & Plans
Interpretation of ANSI Specifications
Hardware & Software Infrastructure
Innovative SQL Applications
Professional News
Announcements, Reviews, Papers, Conferences
New Product Ideas
Comparisons to Alternatives
Announcement of Bugs & Patches
General Discussion, Opinions, & Questions
We hope that you will support this group, and look forward to your comments and participation in the discussions in news.groups.
Please distribute this proposal to your friends and colleagues.
