I am thinking of trying to use the redirection (here document) method. If you get any good ideas, please let me know!

Example (Unix shell script):

/usr/oracle/oracle.install 2>[error.file]<<END (user input, line by line)

.
.
.
.

END Of course, you would have to know all the answers in advance to run this(?)

Field installation of oracle (using a datafile instead of raw partitions) is a constant source of aggravation around here. If we could define a default install and let it run automatically, it would lower the value of headache pill stock...
