Your orasrv may crash due to a number of reasons. If you turn on 
the debugging for the orasrv then you may be able to isolate the
problem. Also you are getting an error due to the Transport Layer 
Interface. I have seen however that this is somewhat of a generic
TLI error that occurs due to a number of reasons and you will have 
to provide us more info. From this error it seems like you have the
orasrv (sqlnet v2) based on the TLI interface; do you have access to
the non-TLI orasrv version ?
