It seems from your mail that you are getting the connection from the client to your orasrv listener process. So most likely your installation of the NIC driver , TCP/IP, and sqlplus etc on PC is correct. Most likely your orasrv listener process is unable to start the Oracle server. This may be due to a number of reasons: the first two most simple are for instance if your ORacle home in your oratab is not pointing to a correct
path, or even if the ORacle exec is not found in the path. If these are perfectly ok then What you should do is turn on the tracing on the oracle process and then connect again.
