I am sort of half way through an evaluation of winsock stacks primarily for use with Oracle and we are looking for a product that will coexist with either Novell or Dec Pathworks (and SNA is some cases).

Chameleon so far looks pretty good and seems to be popular - I did have some initial problems getting Oracle to work but they are resolved now.

Wollongong Pathway as a dos product and has served us admirably in the past and the new version has a winsock interface. However it is still a dos based stack which is either good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint.

We use Smartterm emulation and the new version 3 comes with a winsock TCP/IP stack - the only problem so far is that you do not get telnet, ftp applications (no lpd etc.). Oracle seems to work OK with this stack but we have just hit a problem with DEC's Teamlinks.

I would be interested to hear anyone elses views.
