Does anybody know, if alter table tbalename modufy colulmname type Update all the recordsn the database or just the ddl? For example, I have a tale with several thousand rows, and I want it to increase the column length of one field from char(30 to char(110), wil it update all the rows or just the ddl and be instantaneous?
If anybody has any answer to this could they e-mail it to me asap. Iam in a real bind here. thanks.
